She positioned herself very well with the timing of her book because year after year, going green and living green are becoming ever more popular terms. Uliano has created the Gorgeously Green Diet to not only eliminate inches from the waistline but to decrease the amount of waste on the planet as well.

The Gorgeously Green Diet is a four week plan that gives the reader a choice of three options: light green, bright Alli green or deep green, so that they can select the level that is right for them. The “green program” includes recipes not only for food, but recipes as well on how to make natural skin care products and cleaning products which are inexpensive and work very well. Uliano also explains how to grow a home garden and the basics of recycling. The strategies and tips she suggests are very practical and inexpensive. You will be going green and saving money at the same time!

The Gorgeously Green Diet is just as much a lifestyle as it is a diet.  The goal is to choose food based on its quality, not calories, number of carbs or convenience.  The book explains how certain foods are not only bad for our health but the environment, and those are the ones we avoid at all costs.

Breakfast – natural, homemade granola

Lunch – Lentil or Quinoa salad

Dinner – Seafood salad with roasted chicken

Dessert – Chocolate Cake (made from recipe in book)

There is one component that is vital to the success of every diet and that is EXERCISE. The Gorgeously Green Diet recommends doing at least one rigorous activity per day for at least 30 minutes. Anything will do as long as you are able to keep the heart rate elevated for the entire 30 minutes. The book also suggests flexibility and strength exercises you can do at home.

  • Recipes are included in the book, but there is not a meal plan or guide for each of the four weeks.
