FDA Recalls Hydroxycut Products From The Market
Once advertised as being able to burn weight fa Hydroxycut is one of the most popular names on today’s market when it comes to weightloss. Hydroxycut marketers were once charged with falsifying images used in their advertisements.
After being linked to 23 cases of severe liver damage, including the death of a 19-year-old man and 1 liver transplant, the FDA has decided to recall 14 of Hydroxycut’s products from the shelves of supermarkets and pharmacies across the country.
These Hydroxycut products being recalled by the FDA include:
- Hydroxycut Regular Rapid Release Caplets

- Hydroxycut Regular Drink Packets
- Hydroxycut Caffeine-Free Drink Packets

- Hydroxycut Liquid Shots
- Hydroxycut Hardcore RTDs (Ready-to-Drink)

What to do if you are taking Hydroxycut –
Last year over 9 million units of the Hydroxycut products now being recalled were sold in the US, therefore liver damage is rare. The problem is that the people who experienced liver damage while on the product were taking the daily dosage amount as listed on the product’s lable. If you are currently taking Hydroxycut and are experiencing any of these symptoms please go to the emergency room to be checked for potential liver damage:
- brown urine,
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- fatigue,
- stomach pain,
- itching and light-colored stools.
The ingredients linked to the liver damage are currently unknown because the ingredients overlap from product to product, but investigations are being dot to figure out exactly what caused the liver damage in numerous Hydroxycut consumers.
